Yaoundé – Vodafone Cameroon, under the patronage of the Minister of Higher Education, Jacque Fame NDONGO, launched its Youth Programme and entered into a memorandum of understanding with a number of state and private universities.

“While our core business here in Cameroon is obviously the provisioning of LTE next generation operator, we are also deeply committed to giving back to Cameroonian society, and for us, one key way to ensure we do this consistently, and well is by focusing on youth – because after all they represent the future,” said Lars Stork, Group Chief Operating Officer, Afrimax.

The Vodafone Youth programme, aims to develop and empower youth and young professionals in achieving their potential through three key initiatives:

  1. A “Student Brand Ambassador” program that will offer young undergraduate students with the opportunity to gain work experience through internships, mentorship and other special initiatives at Vodafone Cameroon while pursuing their studies.
  2. A “Young Graduate” established to provide graduates with their first professional experience at Vodafone Cameroon with hands-on experience.
  3. The Digital Platform “JUMP” is a unique web portal, at that will make available to young people and students content on training, education, entrepreneurship, self-employment, personal development and entertainment.

“We are extremely pleased to be the first to market with our unique web portal JUMP, which is the most visual aspect of our youth program,” said Izouma Sidibe, Marketing Director.
